Having become the first Romanian referee to officiate at a final tournament of this level after a 24-year hiatus, Istvan Kovac got a fresh start at the World Cup match in Qatar.

István Kovacs will again be the reserve referee for the match at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after the delegation received at the opening match.

The next match for which Istvan Kovac has been deputized is the Group H match between Uruguay and South Korea on Thursday 24 November at 15:00.

For this new degekare, Kovacs will take home $2,500, just like he did in the first game he officiated.

France’s Clement Turpin, who also took charge of this year’s Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid, will take center stage in the game between Uruguay and South Korea.

His assistants will be Nicholas Danos and Cyril Gringor.
