A new political environment, significantly different from what it was a few months ago, is taking shape as the country enters the last leg of its journey to elections. The phone surveillance case caused a change in the strategy of the political parties and brought new data to the fore. Although for New Democracy and the government’s top position in the polls has not been challenged by any measure, it is a fact that the pressure to keep the wiretapping issue in the news increases mobility in the ruling party. The initial impression that the case would close and be closed, leave the spotlight with the completion of the work of the parliamentary commission of inquiry, was not confirmed, as it repeatedly returned and even dynamically found itself in the spotlight. . And the political system as a whole adjusts the strategy and narrative with which each party will go to the elections.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in his speech yesterday at the meeting of the Political Committee of the ND, clearly indicated the path along which the party will move.
