Khashoggi murder: US grants bin Salman immunity

Government Biden she decreed that her crown prince Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman is immune from any prosecution for the murder of Jamal Khashoggithe fact that condemned the bride of a Saudi journalist.

Khashoggi was killed and dismembered in October 2018 by agents of Saudi Arabia at the country’s consulate in Istanbul. According to US intelligence, this operation was ordered by Prince Mohammed.

“Jamal died again today,” fiancee Hatice Cengiz responded on Twitter when the news broke. He later added:

“We thought the US could shed some light on justice, but once again the money came first. This is a world that neither I nor Jamal know.”

A spokesman for the White House National Security Council explained in a written statement that the decision was made by the State Department on the basis of “long-standing and well-established principles of international law”.

State Department lawyers indicated that the Biden administration “determined that Plaintiff bin Salman, as head of a foreign government, enjoys immunity from the jurisdiction of US courts.”

At the end of September, Saudi Prince bin Salman appointed Prince Mohammed as the country’s prime minister.

Biden has come under fire for a July meeting with the crown prince during his visit to Saudi Arabia. The White House announced that the President of the United States told Prince Mohammed that he held him responsible for the murder of Khashoggi.

Mohammed bin Salman himself denies that he ordered the murder of a journalist, but admitted that it happened “under my supervision.”
