Extension of his presidency FIFA Gianni Infantino is safe. The 52-year-old actor is the only candidate announced by the World Federation for the elections to be held on March 16, 2023 in Kigali, Rwanda.
As FIFA announced, the deadline for nominations had expired, and there was no other candidate for the presidency. This means that Infantino received a third term.
The 52-year-old lawyer began his career in football in 2000 when UEFA hired him as a legal advisor. He then served as general secretary.
The Italian-Swiss leader was elected FIFA president in the 2016 snap election, defeating Bahrain’s Salman bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa in the final round. He was re-elected in 2019 unopposed.
