Having lost to Montenegro and Germany, the Romanian national team took 12th place at the European Women’s Handball Championship. After the last match of the “tricolor” team, Krina Pintja couldn’t hold back her emotions, through tears she talked about refereeing mistakes in Skopje.
The tricolors were not allowed to participate in the protest at the Women’s Handball European Championship
The national team centre-back said the players coached by Florentin Pera would wear T-shirts that read “Respect our work (Respect our work)”.before the match against Germany, but they were not allowed to protest. In the end, the shirts were worn by the Romanian fans.
Also, at the start of the game, “tricolor” deliberately wanted to make a double dribble, but were forced to give up the initiative.
“It’s been years for me, and it’s been like this every time. I did not go to the Olympics because of side games. This is very frustrating. It’s not about handball anymore. What is the point of preparing?
What’s the point of sacrificing if everything happens behind the scenes? I am very upset and very disappointed. For so many years I came to the national team with a big dream and could not achieve it. I am getting closer to the end of the national team… I feel that I have no more strength and hope. As if everything is against us. After yesterday, what else can we do? We’ve always said it, but it’s like talking to walls.
We wanted to do something for ourselves, but we were not allowed. We are not allowed, we cannot do this (or protest).
I am 100% sure that if this happened to French women or Norwegian women, they would be allowed. These are behind the scenes games! We have been told that we cannot do anything for our souls either. I am very disappointed
The way we point and shoot says a lot about what we build. Where were we now with 4 points down? I couldn’t sleep after last night’s game. As I laid my head on the pillow, all the phases came to mind“- Krina Pinteaquoted by GSP.
