After the match with the French women under the leadership of Olivier Krumbholtz, Christina Nyagu (the leader of our national team) explained why there is such a big difference in the score.

Nyagu talks about the lack of a strong enough team to be able to fight with such an Olympic champion as the French national team.

“I also played in the last friendly game with Germany quite a lot, then with the Netherlands, the same amount, 50 minutes. Today was the third game in five days. I definitely feel fresher because I haven’t played as much.

We do not have a strong enough team to withstand two such tough matches in three days. We had a very good game against Holland, we were close to taking a point or points.

The frustration was very great, as was the energy consumption. We knew we had a very tough game against France.

We didn’t lose from the start, we tried to play a good match, but at the end there was also a noticeable difference in freshness and the fact that France is a stronger team, they were able to run more than us.

• The top three teams from each group will advance to the main groups (November 10-16), a stage of the competition where they will enter only on points gained against other qualified teams.

• The national teams occupying the first two places in the Main Groups will meet in the semi-finals (1st place in GP1 vs. 2nd place in GP2 / 2nd place in GP1 vs. 1st place in GP2).

• The medal matches will take place on November 20, 2022.

• Selector Florentin Pera said that the task of the “tricolors” is to get into the main groups.

• Cristina Nyagu, the captain of the tricolors, started the European competition as the top scorer, scoring 264 goals during the tournaments in which she participated.

• In the CE 2020 edition, Romania ranked 12th.
