
Security forces detained two foreigners, a 27-year-old and a 30-year-old woman, defendants in the case of the transportation of migrants Kalamata.
In particular, according to the police, after investigations carried out by the security service of Kalamata in cooperation with the security department of Pavel Mela in Thessaloniki, it turned out that a 27-year-old and a 30-year-old man had been active in the past two months in receiving foreign third-country nationals from various points of the state border and their subsequent transportation within the country.
The arrested persons, using fake police identities and driver’s licenses, rented cars from various regions of Greece and then, after misappropriating them, used them to pick up illegally entering foreigners from border points and deliver them to parts of the country.
As part of the investigation, it was determined, according to the police, that the detainees stole a total of eight cars from car rental shops between the beginning of September and November 1, of which four were discovered by police in various parts of northern Greece, one was damaged, and two more car tried to assign.
The two detainees, who were taken to the Kalamata district prosecutor’s office, have been prosecuted for organizing criminal activities, forgery of documents, embezzlement and violation of the law on foreigners, while the police continue to investigate the case.
