In the third set of the match with Novak Djokovic, Nick Kyrgios rushed to the judge’s chair, worried about the audience, who would have cheered him wildly.

“That woman is drunk, she is crazy. He was talking to me in the middle of the game. Why is he still here? I know exactly who it is, the one in the dress who looks like she’s had 700 drinks. I was going to lose the game because of her. This is unacceptable” – Nick Kyrgios.

“I know what it means to leave with a second chance, so I wanted to help him. I wanted to show that we are with him, I wanted to encourage him. I wanted to support him. Maybe I went too far. But I had nothing but good intentions. This is because of the temperature, there was no cap. I’m sorry”, Palius explained firstwho stated that he had only drunk a Pimm’s cocktail and a glass of rose wine.

Anya Palus said the Australian had disgraced her by making a “reckless and completely unfounded allegation” and filed the lawsuit in August, adding that any damages she won would be donated to charity.

“Not only did this cause me considerable harm that day, leading to my expulsion from the arena, but Mr Kyrgios’ false statements were broadcast and read by millions of people around the world, causing me and my family harm and suffering” – Anya Palyus.

Kyrgios apologized in a statement released to British media by Knight Temple Law, which represented Palius (a 32-year-old Polish lawyer).

“I told the referee that the fan, whom I now know as Anya Paljus, distracted me during the match, thinking she was drunk. I admit that this remark was wrong and I apologize.

To compensate, I donated £20,000 to Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, Mrs Palus’ chosen charity. I will not comment further on this topic” – Nick Kyrgios.

After years of underachievement, Kyrgios enjoyed a remarkable second half of 2022, winning the Washington title and reaching his first Grand Slam (singles) final at Wimbledon and the US Open quarter-finals.
