
The Athens District Attorney’s Office has opened a criminal case for causing fatal bodily harm to a 46-year-old former boxer who hit a 76-year-old fisherman in a marina. Kallithea Friday morning, leaving the elderly man turned up shortly after.
Today, a 48-year-old emigrant from Kazakhstan appeared before the prosecutor’s office.
Recall that yesterday the two men quarreled, as the 48-year-old allegedly swam not far from the place where the 76-year-old was fishing, not far from Nehru Square.
Some witnesses report that the attacker was harassed at sea by the victim’s fishing rod, while others say the 76-year-old man told the 48-year-old that swimming was not allowed in the area.
During an argument, the former martial artist punched the 76-year-old man and fled the scene. A few minutes later, the elderly man had an ischemic attack and died.
Finally, the offender was detained a little later in a coffee shop located on Dimosthenus Street, in Kallithea.
