Russian Daniil Medvedev completed his exceptional journey from the tournament in Vienna in style and in the last act of the competition defeated Denis Shapovalov in 3 sets with a score of 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

After 2 hours 19 minutes, Medvedev claimed his second win over the Canadian in 2022 after success at the tournament in Cincinnati, when the Russian stopped in the semi-finals.

The title won in Vienna is Medvedev’s second in 2022, following his title in Los Cabos.

Qualifying for the finals of the tournament in Vienna earned Daniil Medvedev a place on this year’s Champions Tour, the fourth in a row for the athlete, who is ranked No. 4 in the ATP rankings.
