The governor of Sevastopol, Mykhailo Razvozhaev, announced the closure of all surveillance cameras in the city, saying that Saturday’s attack was “the most massive since the beginning of the special operation,” Russian news agency TASS reported. The restriction appeared due to the fact that the authorities introduced by Russia claim that nothing in the city was damaged.
The governor of the largest city on the Crimean peninsula, illegally annexed in 2015, says he will turn off all available surveillance cameras for civilian broadcasting.
“Regarding posting of video evidence. <...> The special services will deal with separate videos that allow the enemy to detect the city’s defense systems. It was decided that all streams available for civilian videos from surveillance cameras in the city will be closed,” said Razvozhaev.
The governor added that the restrictions will remain in place until the average response level the city has put in place is increased.
“All cameras that are purchased in TV app packages will be closed. They will only be available for special services,” the governor said.
The Russian official also noted that all the videos that people post on social media show only the explosions of enemy drones.

An ironic message from Kyiv
Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the President of Ukraine, mocks the decision of the Sevastopol authorities on Twitter.
“Don’t panic. Just turn off the cameras not only in Sevastopol, but also everywhere in the occupied territories. After the “negative offensive” on the borders in 1991, tell your population that you “won” the war. And that the “Black Sea Fleet” just went to sea …”, wrote Podolyak.
