Edi Jordenescu will watch the Swiss national team at the World Cup in Qatar

The main reason why coach Edi Iordenescu will be present at the World Cup in Qatar is that the technician will want to keep an eye on the Swiss team, with whom we will be fighting for a place at Euro 2024.

“Preliminary matches for EURO 2024 will start in March next year, but the technical staff has already started analyzing the opponents. Under these conditions, the selector Edward Iordenescu will go to the World Cup to watch live the matches of the Swiss national team against Brazil and Serbia.

He will be in Qatar from November 28 to December 2 and will also watch other matches.” – says the statement published on the website of the Romanian Football Federation.

Switzerland have been drawn into Group G at the World Cup in Qatar, where they will also face Serbia, Brazil and Cameroon.

The 44-year-old technician will take part in 10 matches of the most expensive final tournament in history, namely:

November 28

Cameroon – Serbia

Brazil – Switzerland

November 29

Wales – England

Netherlands – Qatar

November 30

Austria – Denmark

Poland – Argentina

December 1

Croatia – Belgium

Japan – Spain

December 2

South Korea – Portugal

Serbia – Switzerland

After the draw, which took place on 9 October 2022, Romania was placed in Group I along with Switzerland, Israel, Kosovo, Belarus and Andorra.

The tricolors will face Switzerland on June 19, 2023 away (9:45 p.m.) and on November 21, 2023 (9:45 p.m.).
