A partial solar eclipse will take place in the afternoon on October 25, which will also be visible in Romania. It will be best seen from the north-east of the country, where the Sun will cover a maximum of 44%.
In Bucharest, the eclipse starts at 12:26 p.m. and ends at 2:49 p.m., with the maximum point at 1:38 p.m., when the coverage will be 38%, explains the Astronomical Observatory of Admiral Vasile Urceanu on Facebook.
The eclipse starts earlier in the northwest of the country and later in the southeast, but the difference compared to Bucharest is small: +/- 10 minutes.
In the west of the country, the coverage by the Sun will be no more than 33%, and in the east – 44%.
A very important tip: do not look at the Sun with the naked eye, but only through special light filters (darkening, Mylar or the densest filters for welding machines).
The eclipse will be visible from almost all of Europe.
This is the second partial eclipse of 2022. The first was on April 30, but it was not visible from Europe.
