The percentage of subsidies for the installation of photovoltaics on rooftops will reach 60% as part of the program announced by the government, said the Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy Ministry of Environment and EnergyAlexandra Sduku speaking at the Renewable & Storage Forum.

The support rate will be for RES in combination with batteries (accumulators) for power units up to 10 kilowatts, and the Program Guide is expected to be submitted for discussion in the next two weeks.

At the same time, two other programs are being prepared to support the installation of photovoltaic systems:

  1. budget program for 160 million euros for the installation of installations of own production at enterprises and
  2. a program to strengthen the energy communities of municipalities with a budget of 100 million euros, which will be aimed at supporting vulnerable consumers.

Ms. Sduku described the government’s priorities for the next 8 months in general, which include:

  • Preparation of a new energy plan that will include more ambitious targets for 2030, when the share of renewable energy should reach 80% in electricity generation, 50% in cooling-heating and 30% in transport.
  • Integration of Directives for consumers (the relevant bill is in Parliament) and RES.
  • Completion of the Information System for RES, which will digitize the licensing process.
  • Announcement of the next tender for RES before the end of the year.
  • Cleaning up projects that have a final connection suggests either moving forward or freeing up the electrical space they occupied.
  • Promoting energy storage to provide 1.6 gigawatts of power by the end of 2025.
  • Launch of tenders for the installation of hybrid RES systems in the non-connected islands in 2023.
  • Promotion of offshore wind farms with the aim of launching the first by 2030.
