A 75-year-old retired teacher from Saxony is accused of being the “mastermind” of a far-right group that planned kidnappings and terrorist attacks in Germany.
The woman, referred to in the media as Elizabeth R., is considered the leader of a terrorist group whose members planned attacks on German politicians, as well as attacks on energy facilities in order to cut off electricity in the country. The group in question is said to have planned, among other things, to kidnap German Health Minister Karl Lauterbach.
Four men linked to the plans were arrested in April last year for possession of heavy weapons and also attempted to obtain explosives.
