Didier Deschamps without Kante and Pogba at the World Cup in Qatar 2022

Kante was injured in Chelsea’s game with Tottenham and since then the Blue and Whites staff have been doing everything possible to get the 31-year-old midfielder back as soon as possible.

Recently, London technician Graham Potter specified that the medical problem of the Frenchman is as serious as possible and that no details regarding a potential return to the lawn this year can be reported.

Kante has only played two games this season and has been unavailable since then.

After moving to Turin “Juventus” in the pre-season, Paul Pogba was also injured, and the “Old Signora” player underwent an operation.

Although there is no 100% certainty that he will also be absent from France’s World Cup squad, according to rumors in the international media, he also cannot recover for this winter’s final tournament.

So the challenges are mounting for Deschamps, with Kante, Pogba and Matuidi (retired from the national team) joining the French in 2018. The three formed the team’s midfield at the World Cup in Russia, where France won their second ever title.

But there is also good news for Deschamps, who will have more less experienced midfielders at his disposal rather than those who will be absent.

Aurelien Chuameni, Eduardo Kamavinga, Yussuf Fofana, Matteo Genduzi or Adrien Rabiot are just some of the footballers who will try to replace the additional experience that Kante, Pogba and Matuidi had.

The national team of Galicia will begin its journey to the World Cup in Qatar on November 22 against Australia, and on November 26 and 30 it will play against Denmark and Tunisia, respectively.
