Autohellas and Israel’s Samelet are establishing a joint venture to import and sell Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Fiat Professional and Jeep vehicles. The joint venture, which will be set up after approval from the Competition Commission, will partner with the multinational Stellantis Group, formed last year following the merger of US-Italian Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and France’s PSA group. . The collaboration between the two companies is rooted in the longstanding friendship between Autohellas founder Theodoros Vassilakis and Michel Levy, who acquired Samelet in 1989. On this basis, Autohellas with CEO Yutihis Vassilakis and executive board member Giorgos Vassilakis and Samelet with President Omer Levy are making the deal.
Based in Amsterdam, Stellantis is listed on international stock exchanges with a capitalization of 38 billion euros, operations in 30 countries and a commercial presence in 130 markets worldwide. One of its subsidiaries, FCA Italy, which currently imports and distributes five Stellantis brands, will come under the control of a joint venture between Autohellas and Samelet. Thus, the joint Greek company to be created will import and distribute the Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Fiat Professional and Jeep brands in the Greek market. This deal, as announced yesterday, will not affect the contracts of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Greece (FCA Greece) employees.
After receiving the approval of the Competition Commission, he will become a partner of the multinational group Stellantis.
“We are proud of Stellantis’ decision to select a newly formed company from our Autohellas and Samelet groups to import and distribute historic and iconic Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Fiat Professional and Jeep vehicles in the Greek market. Our partnership shares a common vision of a customer centric strategy and is based on our collective and complementary presence, resources and leadership in many areas of mobile services in Greece. Our shared goal is to turn Stellantis’ new broad product strategy for these brands into a commercial success in the Greek market and to succeed in meeting the current and future needs of our customers in the rapidly evolving world of the automotive industry,” said Omer Levy and Giorgos Vasilakis of the Samelet and Autohellas groups.
