Earlier, after the PNL voted for his candidacy, Ligia Deca said his “mission” was to “realize the vision of an Enlightened Romania,” saying he would “enact an Enlightened Romania” in letter and spirit, according to the president’s statement Klaus Johannis.

President Iohannis also spoke about “Enlightened Romania” after Ligia Deka was sworn in in Cotroceni, saying he believed the project would “go forward with new energy”.

“We all understand that when it comes to education, we are at a very important moment. I am sure that “Educated Romania” will move forward with new energy and new support, both from the political and public space. This is really a national project that Romania needs very much. A nation without an effective education system has less chance. The package of laws should reach the government as soon as possible,” said Iohannis.
