
The international association of the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) is working on the idea of creating a single settlement currency, the Russian diplomat said.
The corresponding revelation was made by the Ambassador General of the Russian Foreign Ministry to the BRICS Pavel Knyazev, speaking on Thursday at a public debate.
“Among the topics discussed is the idea of the possibility and prospects of creating a common single settlement currency based on the currencies of the BRICS countries,” he said.
Trapped in the global banking payment system, Russia is looking for a way out through its allies. Few countries now accept cards of the Russian payment system Mir, access to which is now closed to all Turkish commercial banks.
