According to news.ro, the iPhone 15 will bring several fundamental changes, including a new design, the final rejection of the Lightning port and a rebrand of the top model.
After three years of using the same design, Apple is expected to give its smartphones a new design in 2023. That is if somehow the company decides to continue the cycle and keep the same design for four years.
Aside from the design, Bloomberg believes that next year Apple will finally ditch the Lightning port and replace it with USB-C, saving its users from an extra cable and outdated technology.
Not only is USB-C better, but European Union regulations force all mobile device manufacturers to use this standard from 2024.
The only reason Apple is continuing to use Lightning until the last possible moment is because of the revenue it generates from selling chargers, revenue that could be affected by the switch to USB-C.
Also next year, Apple appears to be ditching the Pro Max brand in favor of the Ultra. This will be used for the top model of the series. This change will essentially be an alignment of Apple brands that have an Ultra smartwatch starting this year.
Finally, Dynamic Island, a software innovation only available on the Pro versions of the iPhone 14 and which Bloomberg considers a disappointment, will be available on all models of the iPhone 15 series from next year.
At the beginning of September, Apple presented the new iPhone 14 phones, which are available in versions with a screen diagonal of 6.1 and 6.7 inches, respectively, and cost from $799 in the United States. For the first time, users will be able to send emergency messages via satellite when they’re in an area without a signal, with the option available in the US and Canada from November.
