Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov today denounced from the UN General Assembly Hall the “unprecedented” and “grotesque” Russophobia of the West.
“Russophobia on the part of officials in the West is unprecedented, its scale is grotesque,” he told the UN General Assembly, accusing the United States of considering itself “almost an emissary of God on Earth.”
“The US is trying to turn them all into courtiers with sanctions,” he said, and also accused Washington of “playing with fire” on Taiwan.
Russia’s foreign minister has defended “referendums” being held these days in Russian-controlled regions of eastern and southern Ukraine to join the Russian Federation, saying people are reclaiming “the land where their ancestors lived for hundreds of years.” And “now the West has gone crazy,” he joked.
