
​Romgaz, the country’s largest natural gas producer, in which the state has a 70% stake, wants to implement a program to reduce electricity consumption and on Friday launched a tender for the purchase of LED projectors and wall lights to replace low-quality products.

The purpose of the tender is to sign a framework agreement, and the estimated total value of the contract is 245,000 lei (excluding VAT).
The contract is divided into 2 lots: the first involves the purchase of a maximum of 275 LED projectors, and the second – a maximum of 180 LED wall lights.
The deadline for receiving proposals or applications for participation is October 31, 2022. On the same day, a meeting will be held to open proposals.
The government wants to launch the “Rabla” program for light bulbs
Prime Minister Nicolae Chuke announced on Friday, September 16, that it had been decided at coalition level that the Ministry of the Environment should launch a “crash” program to replace incandescent light bulbs with LEDs, which have lower consumption.
Chuke asked ministers to come up with action plans to reduce electricity consumption in public institutions and said one of the government-level solutions was to switch off wall lights at 12 midnight.
