With two matches to go before the end of the competition, the “three-color” have little chance for first place and, implicitly, for access to League A and access to the playoffs of qualification for Euro-2024, if they miss the qualification from the previous ones.

Romania can top the group if they beat Finland (3.05 odds to win in Betano) and Bosnia-Herzegovina, the latter by at least two goals, while Montenegro draw in Bosnia-Herzegovina and then lose at own lands with Finland.

Eduard Iordenescu has been assured by the FRF that he will stay on even if he misses the interim target of his contract by finishing one of the top two places in the Nations League group: “I felt almost unconditional support. Starting from the president and below, I felt that people are very close, open to dialogue, analysis, joint search for solutions. Moreover, I was given guarantees in this sense! Management analyzed my work every day and I was assured that in this sense they are very satisfied, we lack results! But, in the end, we have to go through these two games properly, draw the line again, do an analysis, and then we’ll see! Everything that is in the national interest of Romania should come first.”

Romania is in last place in the group after four matches, moreover, they scored only in the last one, a home victory against Finland 1:0; the first three were lost, 0-2 (d) and 0-3 (a) to Montenegro, 0-1 (d) to Bosnia and Herzegovina. “Tricolor” have a coefficient of 1.44 on Betano for at least one scored goal!

Finland isn’t much better either, with four points from four games, 1-1 (a) and 2-3 (d) against Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2-0 (a) against Montenegro and 0-1 (d) against Romania. The Scandinavians, who have a odds of 2.25 to win on Betano, are coached by Markka Canerva, who has held this position since 2016 (since then, Romania has changed four coaches: after Angel Iordenescu, with whom the national team went to Euro-2016, he is followed by Christoph Daum, Cosmin Kontra, Mirel Redoi and Edward Iordanescu).

So far, Finland and Romania have met 12 times (11 official matches and one friendly match), and the “tricolors” have never lost: eight times they won, three games ended in a draw, the last match was a round trip, from the League of Nations, Romania – Final 1-0 .
