This huge project has ten wind turbines with a capacity of 3.5 megawatt-hours each, so that the total capacity is 35 megawatt-hours. The wind farm will be able to produce 79 gigawatt-hours per year, avoiding the production of 37,250 tons of CO2 emissions. In addition, it will provide clean energy to 26,280 households. In addition to the wind farm, the Portuguese company EDPR has also built the infrastructure to connect to the grid – the wind farm was connected late last month. With this new installation, the total EDPR capacity in Italy is 463 MWh. During the opening, EDPR CEO Miguel Stilvel Datrande said: “The energy crisis that the Old Continent is experiencing today, as well as the growing need for energy independence, prompts us to strengthen our commitment to the production and supply of energy from renewable sources and does not pollute the environment. With the opening of the new wind farm in Basilicata, EDPR is proud of its contribution to making Italy greener and more energy independent.” It is worth noting that the Portuguese company has also been operating in Greece since 2018, and its first wind farm, which opened late last year, was the Malesina wind farm with a production capacity of 45 megawatt hours.

The wind farm Krakow-Stiliano further strengthens the relationship between EDPR and the neighboring country. The company has a presence there with several wind farms and recently launched a crowdfunding campaign called Energy Together.
