The eclectic collection brings together historic works of art signed by Nicolae Tonica, Theodor Palladi, Corneliu Baba, as well as works by contemporary artists such as Adrian Heni, Stefan Kaltia or Georgeta Neparous. At the same time, the collection contains a large number of great names of Romanian sculpture, such as Ion Irimescu, Marcel Guguianu, Ion Iancut or Ioan Pirvan, the collector’s passion also returns to sculpture.

Among the most valuable works of art to be auctioned is “The Road to the Sunset” by the famous Adrian Heny, whose starting price is only 15,000 euros, followed by the work “The Blue Curtain” with Ștefan Câltia as the author, which starts from 12,000 euros. Also valuable are heritage artworks such as Palladi’s Still Life with Fans and Flowers, priced from €12,000, as well as Corneliu Bab’s Spyme and Nikolaj Tonica’s Winter in Balchik, which start at €10,000 each

“The eclectic collection has been assembled over the past decade with great care and dedication. Some of the works were inherited, some were purchased at auctions in Romania, and many were directly from artists’ workshops. Each work represents an important chapter of my life, and I can testify that one of my favorite artists is Corneliu Baba, and for my passion for sculpture, I turn to Ion Irimescu, who I consider a continuation of Paciure’s path, and to Huguian, who I feel is continuation of Brâncuși. I believe that the works put up for auction on October 4 will add value to the lives and, why not, to the homes of the collectors they reach.”– the collector told us.

120 works are on display until October 4 at the Česianu Rakovice Palace and can be admired for free from Monday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. “Auction of an Eclectic Collection of Romanian Art” will be held in a hybrid format – online, on the Artmark Live 2.0 platform, as well as in the Casa A10 by Artmark auction room.
