Over the last day, 2,303 new cases of COVID-19 were registered against 967 the previous day. Also, 16 deaths were recorded, according to the data sent on Tuesday by the Ministry of Health.

Over the last day, 2,303 new cases of SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were recorded, which is 1,336 more than the previous day. 575 of the new cases are re-infected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the initial infection. In contrast to new confirmed cases, 94 people were confirmed positive after retesting patients who had already tested positive.

The most new diseases were registered in Bucharest – 308, Timisoara – 166, Cluj – 137 and IaČ™i – 124.

There are 1,562 patients with COVID-19 in Romanian hospitals, which is 142 less than the previous day. Also, 124 people were hospitalized in ATZ, which is 3 less than the previous day. Of the 124 patients admitted to the HTI, 114 are unvaccinated.

Out of the total number of hospitalized 161 minors, all of them were hospitalized in wards, 46 less than the previous day and 0 in intensive care, 2 less than the previous day.

By Tuesday, 66,937 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 had died in Romania.

In the last day, 16 deaths were registered (10 men and 6 women), 4 deaths were registered before the control period. Among the 16 fatal cases, 2 were registered in the age category of 50-59 years, 3 in the age category of 60-69 years, 5 in the age category of 70-79 years, and 6 in the age category over 80 years.

All the deceased had concomitant diseases, 5 of them were vaccinated.

Over the last day, 3,869 RT-PCR tests were conducted (2,326 according to the diagnosis and medical protocol and 1,543 according to the request) and 18,972 express antigen tests.
