We all get minor speeding tickets from time to time, whether on purpose or not. Lack of attention, wanting to drive fast or being late for work or a meeting, no one is perfect. But, unfortunately, it happens that there is a radar or a police officer in the corner, and we are caught, sometimes very stupidly. But in some cases, speeding is too serious to be caused by simple carelessness. This is exactly the case of the driver we are talking about today, who seems to have completely forgotten the rules Traffic rulesand which flashed by at a very, very high speed on the highway.

A busy priest

The action of this story takes place in Isera, or rather in Saint-Canton-Falvier. This Saturday, September 10, gendarmes from the motorized platoon of La Verpillière are checking speed on the A43. So far, nothing too unusual. But suddenly the soldiers see a Peugeot 5008 coming at a very high speed. Then 199 km/h flashes, that is, the speed of 189 km/h is maintained. The concern is that the 130 km/h limit was highlighted here. But the unusual thing is that the driver is far from being a young drug addict. Indeed, this is a 55-year-old man who has an amazing profession: he is a priest. But this does not prevent him from receiving an exemplary sanction.

Big fine

Indeed, a speeding over 50 km/h is considered a misdemeanor that carries a very severe punishment. Among them, the withdrawal of 6 points in the driver’s license and a fine of up to 1,500 euros. During the control, the permit can be kept for 72 hours, but the gendarmes can request a suspension for a maximum of three years. Other penalties may be added, such as immobilization and confiscation of the vehicle or even a ban on driving certain land vehicles for a maximum of 3 years.
