Concluding his visit to Halki, the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulouwent to the island’s schools this morning for the dedication ceremony to mark the start of the school year.

“Today you meet your friends, teachers and professors at school again, but above all knowledge. A driving force of change that helps us build character, gain self-confidence, face life without fear,” Ms. Sakellaropoulou emphasized, addressing the students.

“I am proud of your achievements such as 2nd place in the 4th Generation Panhellenic School Competition Next Generation and your wonderful e-zine ‘e-Halke’ which you recently released in print,” he said.

He concluded: “Through your creative use of technology, your originality and your energy, you are opening up your pristine, beautiful island to the world. I wish you a good academic year, with hope and optimism!”
