Police officers had to put the kangaroo to sleep so that the rescue team could provide first aid to the man, who died at the scene.

The last fatal attack by a kangaroo was recorded in 1936, when, according to Australian media, a kangaroo killed a 38-year-old man in the state of New South Wales.
