According to the order of the Ministry of Health, approved on Friday by Minister Alexandru Rafila, patients do not have to pay for an anti-COVID-19 test during hospitalization in a medical facility. Non-fulfillment of these provisions by the managers of health care institutions is grounds for termination of the management contract in accordance with Art. 184 of Law No. 95/2006 on medical reform, published again, with further changes and additions, the Ministry of Health informs.

According to the regulatory act, in order to prevent and limit infections associated with the provision of medical care, health care institutions can organize testing of patients for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 virus infection as part of the screening activity at admission.

The costs of screening measures are paid by the health care institution at the expense of its own income.

Managers of health care institutions are obliged to take the necessary measures to ensure access of patients to health care institutions, as well as access to medical services without presenting the result of a test to detect infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
