
Brian Johnson’s autobiography, The Life of Brian, is due out next month.
It was originally announced that a book about the life of the AC/DC frontman would be ready in April 2021.
The memoir Life of Brian has been described as “tempestuous, sweet, with many outrageous stories”.
“I’ve had some long nights and some great nights, bad days and a lot of good ones,” Brian Johnson said in a statement. “Now I’ve gone and written a crazy book about it… Life of Brian comes out this October,” he added.
Life of Brian is due out by Penguin Books in the UK on October 13th and in the US on October 25th.
Described as “one of rock and roll’s most enjoyable and entertaining stories,” the book follows Johnson’s childhood as he grew up in Dunston, North East England and went from “singer to wolf cub.” in the Boy Scouts, became a singer” after seeing Little Richard sing on TV.
“For over a decade, Johnson has tried to make his mark through a number of bands. He appeared on the British television music program Top of the Pops, toured Australia, and yet the big moment seemed far away,” the synopsis reads.
“Then he was invited to London to audition for one of the most famous rock bands in the world. AC/DC were in crisis following the tragic death of lead singer Bon Scott, but with Brian at the helm they recorded their masterpiece: “Back in Black”. It became the best-selling rock album of all time. The tour that followed filled the arenas.
“But there had to be a twist to this story. In 2016, Brian was forced to leave the group after being diagnosed with hearing loss, only to make a triumphant return to the group he loved with the release of their 2020 album Power Up.
Brian Johnson recently attended a tribute to the late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins at Wembley Stadium.
