“So much hypocrisy, which we saw today here in the parliament, from colleagues from the SDP, cannot even be accommodated in this People’s Hall. Mr. Ciolak, all summer you criticized Virgil Popescu on TV for the energy crisis and disaster, and today you voted against this proposal. It’s a shame what you’re doing. In reality, you are doing a cheap TV show and behind closed doors negotiating positions worth thousands of euros in ANRE. Shame on you,” USR deputy Kristina Prune accused the Social Democrats.

Also, the leader of AUR, George Simion, told the Social Democrats that by their vote, by their decision to rescue the Minister of Energy, they showed that they “are accomplices and participants in the national robbery.”

The opposition MPs’ statements are directed against the Social Democrats after the PSD has repeatedly criticized and demanded the resignation of Energy Minister Virgil Popescu.

Deputies discussed a day ago a simple lawsuit initiated by USR against Energy Minister Virgil Popescu. At the debate, the deputies from the AUR adhered to the internal procedure and again tried to create a new scandal at the plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies. In response, the Minister of Energy symbolically awarded the Order of Labor of the 3rd degree to AUR leader George Simion.
