
Over the last day, 2,227 new cases of COVID-19 were registered in Romania, which is 649 less than the previous day. The most new cases – 315 – were registered in Bucharest, where the infection rate remains the highest in the country – 2.46 ppm.
471 new cases in 24 hours refer to reinfected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection.
In contrast to newly confirmed cases, 126 people tested positive again after retesting patients who had already tested positive.
How many patients are still hospitalized
In specialized medical institutions, the number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 2018, which is 127 less than the previous day.
157 people were hospitalized in the intensive care unit, which is 8 less than the previous day. Of the 157 patients admitted to the HTI, 131 are unvaccinated.
Out of the total number of hospitalized patients, 216 are minors, 214 are in wards, which is 25 less than the previous day, and 2 are in intensive care units, 1 less than the previous day.
15 deaths in the last day
From the beginning of the pandemic to today, 66,810 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.
In the period from 06.09.2022 (10:00) to 07.09.2022 (10:00), the National Health Service reported 15 deaths (10 men and 5 women), two deaths were recorded before the control interval.
Among the 15 deceased, one was registered in the age category of 60-69 years, 7 – in the age category of 70-79 years, and 7 – in the age category of over 80 years.
14 deceased had comorbidities, 1 patient had no comorbidities.
Out of 15 deceased patients, 4 were vaccinated.
How many Romanians were checked?
Over the last day, 3,576 RT-PCR tests were performed (2,193 based on case definition and medical protocol and 1,383 by request) and 14,096 rapid antigen tests.
From the beginning of the pandemic to this date, 13,445,708 RT-PCR tests and 11,318,597 rapid antigen tests have been processed at the national level.
