
The President of Hungary, Katalin Novak, will be received on Wednesday at the Kotrocen Palace by President Klaus Iohannis on the occasion of her official visit to Romania at the invitation of the Romanian head of state.
As reported in the Presidential Administration, the visit will provide an opportunity to discuss in-depth the ways of diversification and deepening of the bilateral dialogue based on the results of the meeting of the two high-ranking officials on June 10 on the sidelines of the B9 Summit. in Bucharest, writes Agerpres
Also, the visit takes place in the context of the fact that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration on Strategic Partnership between the Government of Romania and the Government of the Republic of Hungary for Europe of the XXI Century (Budapest, November 29, 2002).
The presidential administration indicates that during the visit, President Iohannis will emphasize the openness of the Romanian side to the consolidation of dialogue and bilateral cooperation with Hungary, “a particularly important neighboring state”, in order to promote projects of common interest, for the benefit of the two states and their citizens, regardless of ethnicity.
“The interest of the Romanian side in pragmatic and result-oriented cooperation, structured on the basis of principles and values included in the foundational documents of bilateral cooperation, will be confirmed,” the quoted source said.
The heads of the two states will also discuss the current regional, European and global situation as a result of the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, and the consequences will be analyzed at different levels: security, humanitarian, economic, food. crisis, etc. Regional consequences for partner states such as the Republic of Moldova will also be considered, the Presidential Administration notes.
On the European agenda, the presidents of Romania and Hungary will discuss the enlargement of the European Union and coordinated measures at Union level to respond to the current energy crisis.
The two objectors will hold face-to-face and official negotiations, at the end of which they will make joint statements to the press.
