They were surrounded by detachments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, fearing to cause tension. Earlier, in an interview with journalists, the Minister for the Protection of Citizens Takis Theodorikakos pointed out that in the previous period, the leaders of the OPPI met with the leadership of the rectors of four universities, where it was decided to patrol the university police. These meetings discussed the implementation of measures provided for by the implementing law, such as the installation of turnstiles and cameras at the entrances under the responsibility of university institutions. Mr. Theodorikakos also said that his priest EKPA, where there are no controlled access systems installed on the Zograpu campus, asked the university police to take over the protection of facilities located on campus. Thus, the OPPI platoon was “present” – accompanied by a strong police force and in the presence of news agency photographers – outside the facility, where it remained for some time before being ordered to leave.

Students lined up in front of the main entrance to the campus in Olof Palm, blocking the police force from entering. As a result, about 500 students gathered at the site. In fact, there was tension around 8:30 p.m., with chemicals and stun grenades being thrown.

“Like a gang, they entered the EKPA for patrol, that is, for the safety of the students. We call on students to respond to the anti-democratic descent and to stand together to defend what has been won by pain and struggle. Get the police out of the schools!” SYRIZA youth celebrated yesterday while KNE demanded funds for OPPI for massive teacher recruitment, student housing, modern infrastructure and student welfare. Student organizations announced this morning a protest at the entrance to the campus.
