In her control Italgas finally passed the trading networks natural gas countries, with the completion yesterday of its acquisition DEPA Infrastructure. The former Italian state monopoly, which today is the country’s largest gas distribution company and the third largest in Europe, was announced as the contractor in the TAIPED tender for a joint sale with the ELPE group of 100% of the share capital of DEPA Infrastructure for a price of 733 million euros. In the tender, TAIPED put up for sale 65% of the authorized capital of DEPA Infrastructure, and ELPE – the remaining 35%.

DEPA Infrastructure currently owns 51% of Thessaloniki – Thessalia Natural Gas Distribution SA. (EDA of Thessaly), 100% Sole Proprietor of Natural Gas Distribution Attica SA (EDA Attica) and 100% of the shares of Public Natural Gas Distribution Networks SA (DDEA), one of the three major players in natural gas distribution in Greece, which manage a total of approximately 7,500 kilometers of network and 600,000 active redistribution points.

The acquisition of DEPA Infrastructure by an Italian gas distribution company is completed.

DEPA Infrastructure’s shareholders’ meeting, which met yesterday immediately following the closing of the deal, approved the company’s new charter and named Nunzio Ferrulli as president. The shareholders’ meeting also appointed a 5-member board of directors, which then appointed Barbara Morgante as CEO at its first meeting.

The deal was closed in the presence of Environment and Energy Minister Kostas Skrekas, Italian Ambassador to Greece Patricia Falcinelli and signed by Italgas Managing Director Paolo Gallo, Italgas Newco Sole Managing Director Pier Lorenzo Del Orco. , Managing Director of TAIPED Dimitris Politis, General Director of Strategic Planning and Development of the ELPE Group Georgios Aleksopoulos, General Counsel of ELPE Yannis Apsouri.
