OUR Russia will suspend deliveries oil and oil products in the states that decide to introduce a ceiling on its price, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters, TASS reports.

“As for price limits, if restrictions are introduced, we will simply stop supplying oil and oil products to companies and states that take these measures, because we are not going to work uncompetitively,” he said.

Novak even called proposals to impose restrictions on the price of Russian oil “absurdly absurd”, adding that such a measure could completely destroy the global oil market.

“Interfering with market mechanisms in such an important industry as oil, which is indeed the most important in terms of the energy security of the entire planet, and such efforts will only lead to destabilization,” he added, noting that European and American consumers who are already paying more for energy, will suffer from this measure.

“This will completely destroy the market,” Novak said.
