More than 5 billion euros have been invested in batteries
Toyota invests more than 5 billion euros between 2024 and 2026 in the design of batteries of the latest generation. First of all, Toyota will invest 2.9 billion in the plant located in the west of Japan, in the town of Himeji. This plant willprovide a significant part of the production of electric cars for the Japanese market as well as for the Asian market.
Toyota will also increase it $2.4 billion investment in new plant in Greensboro, North Carolina in the USA. This investment increases the construction costs of this new production site to 4 billion euros. Toyota plans againto optimize the production of their electric vehicles as much as possible for the booming market in the United States. The operation of this plant should begin in 2025.
Toyota wants to anticipate the arrival of its electric models
If Toyota decided to invest so much in the development of its own batteries, it is for this reason the manufacturer expects the appearance of many new models. By 2030, Toyota expects to enter the global market of 30 new models, everything is 100% electric. With this investment, Toyota strives for complete independence in the creation of its cars. Indeed, Toyota plans to do so as wellincrease its investment in hybrid vehicles. The brand is also working on a hydrogen car design by the end of the decade.
