
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has started issuing PPP tenders for five projects with a total budget of 1.2 billion euros. These are two dam projects, two road projects, as well as a nomination from the Agency for the Operation and Maintenance of the Metro in Thessaloniki.

The project includes the maintenance of stations, tunnels as well as rolling stock while it touches the main line and the extension to Kalamaria.
The project budget is 292 million euros and the duration of the PPP is 12 years.
The Ministry of Infrastructure notes that the implementation of the project through PPP ensures the provision of high quality services with the risk of transferring the services provided to the FIS, without liability and additional costs at the expense of the state.
The €358.8 million project includes the modernization of three sections of the Thessaloniki-Edessa road axis (especially the section of the Axios-Edessa river), as well as operation and maintenance.
According to the Ministry of Infrastructure, this is expected to improve the safety of central Macedonia’s road infrastructure and improve service to residents and visitors.
It will also be important to improve road accessibility and access to Thessaloniki International Airport as well as smaller regional airports (eg Kozani, Kastoria).
The project concerns the construction, operation and maintenance of the modernization of the Drama-Amfipolis national road, either by rehabilitating and widening sections of the existing road, or by constructing completely new sections in the sections from Paliokomi to Mavrolefka and from Mavrolefka to Drama with a total length of 43 km
The project budget is 200.4 million euros, and with the upgraded road axle, a significant reduction in travel time is expected by about 30 minutes for cars and about 45 minutes for heavy vehicles.
The object of the project with a budget of 185.5 million euros is, among other things, the construction of:
- dam on the river Enipeas about 5 km east of the village of Skopia, locality of Palioderli. The dam will be stone with a clay core, 77 m high, 850 m long along the crest, a reservoir with a useful volume of 115 million cubic meters. m and the area of the lake is about 5000 hectares.
- reservoir water supply projects for irrigation of agricultural land with a total area of 107,500 sq.
- water supply projects for the city of Farsala and 31 settlements in the Farsala region.
The project will also provide excellent quality water supplies to Farsal and a number of other communities in the area with a population of approximately 10,000.
This is a multi-year request to irrigate high-yielding agricultural land such as the high zone of Platania and the Western Kissamos districts of Chania, saving water for other purposes such as supplying water to settlements and tourist sites.
The physical object of the project includes, among other things, the construction of:
- the Derianos dam (Papadianon section) on the Derianos tributary of the Tavronitis River and related technical works,
- the Sembroniotis dam on the eponymous tributary of the Tavronitis River and related technical works,
- connecting tunnel of two created reservoirs, for the transfer of water from the reservoir about. Sembroniotis to the contributor Fr. Derianu,
The project budget is 215.4 million euros.
