One of the most important contemporary jazz festivals in Europe, Jazz in the Park, today opens an edition celebrating a decade of activity in Romania. The organizers announced an exceptional participation, bringing together 52 bands from 14 countries, and many activities during the first weekend of September. So until September 4, jazz lovers will gather at the Ethnographic Park in Cluj-Napoca to watch live concerts by artists such as Assaf Avidan, Avishai Cohen Quartet, Skalpel or Apifera.

New “smokeless” edition based on IQOS

A first-of-its-kind partnership, the collaboration between Jazz in the Park and IQOS crosses several common territories. Each of the two organizations enjoys a diverse community, open to the new, passionate about creativity and, of course, good music. A community that respects and values differences. As in jazz, where novelty, improvisation and originality are essential to progress, there is an openness to change and innovation in both communities.

Edition smoke free plays the role of combining respect for the museum space of the Ethnographic Park in Cluj-Napoca, the largest open-air museum in Romania, with openness to the progress of the IQOS brand and the Jazz in the Park festival. A better future means better choices, and trying to organize smoke- and ash-free publications is an important step in that direction. In this way, IQOS brings to the audience present at the festival the message of building a smoke-free future, which defines the mission of the brand and the vision behind the development of IQOS products.

Therefore, during the four days in the general areas of the festival, users of nicotine products will be able to use only devices that heat tobacco that do not produce smoke and ash, and users of regular products will also be able to enjoy the experience of the festival, in special spaces installed in several areas of the park.

IQOS lounge, a diverse and “synesthetic” space

Harmony consists of differences. With IQOS.” is the message of all activations in the IQOS lounge, located near the main stage of the festival. In this space, a series of activations awaits the participants of Jazz in the Park, which will make the breaks between concerts more pleasant.

Buildings that communicate through music and video mapping

Every evening, the audience will find out what happens when you combine two historical houses, video mapping and musical works of completely different genres. The dialogue of music houses is an audio-video show of contrasts, different styles, which, however, harmonize. By alternating antagonistic music genres – rap, reggae, classical music and techno – visually supported by video mapping that brings two houses to life, IQOS sends a call to society for openness and acceptance of differences between people. Lovers of jazz, rap or techno, everyone is appreciated in the IQOS community.

IQOS users who will not be able to make it to the festival can watch the live music house show at IQOS Club on Thursday and Friday from 20:00 or follow the news of the festival on the @iqos_ro Instagram account.

Synesthesia or mental communication with the one in front of you

Combining technology, music and quiet human interaction, the Synesthesium installation transforms the participants’ musical experience into a colorful and harmonious visual dance. With the help of neural headphones, the participants of the experience will be able to see the shape of the meeting of their mental vibrations while listening to music together. The brainwave response is formed on the installation screen, and the resulting image can become a printed or digital souvenir that will remind the participants of this unique moment spent together.

VRTW and slow motion

Those who want to listen to music also between concerts on the main stage can go to the DJ booth prepared by IQOS in the lounge. Every night, members of the VRTW DJ team ensure that those who spend time there enjoy an inspired playlist. Iorga, Bully, Ezirk, Dubase, Ufe, Karak, Electroclown, Puiu and Socol are the names that will evolve on the IQOS table.

In addition, for those who want to reminisce about the festival in a different way, there will be a photo corner inspired by musical instruments, where a camera that shoots at a frequency of thousands of frames per second captures their emotions in every nuance and reproduces them in slow motion.

Customize your IQOS device for free

Passing through the IQOS lounge can take any device out of anonymity and instantly become a festival souvenir. Users can choose from 8 designs inspired by Jazz in the Park to customize their device.

IQOS users will also have access to all fitness verification services and devices in the IQOS lounge for four days. Regular product users will have the option to borrow a device that they can use throughout the festival and that they can purchase or return after the event. This way, they will enjoy a smoke and ash free experience in the heart of the community.
