
Volkswagen has just unveiled an all-new model in China that will join the brand’s SUV family by the end of 2022: Volkswagen Tavendor.
Produced by the local FAW-Volkswagen Automobile joint venture a large SUV five-seater is based on MQB Evo platform elongated and has a modern and substantial style, as well as numerous built-in technologies.
Volkswagen Tavendor: impressive style
The Tavendor is 4.94 meters long, 2.02 meters wide and 1.76 meters high, with a wheelbase of 2.98 meters, around 58mm longer than the Volkswagen Touareg. In profile, it could be confused with the Audi Q6, its German cousin, also destined for China… But the front and rear give it a style reminiscent of models in the Volkswagen ID range.
Actually there is light signature full-width LED lights, both front and rear. The front goes even further, thanks to a horizontal stripe that literally surrounds the entire hood, as well as a dramatic look that emphasizes the illuminated brand logo.

Volkswagen Tavendor: minimalistic and technological interior
On board there is a sophisticated instrument panel, which is distinguished by the presence of a a huge floating plate with two screens: a 10.2-inch instrument panel and a 12-inch touchscreen that controls the infotainment system. The raised center console accommodates a lot of things, and thanks to the large panoramic glass roof, a sense of space is created.
Under the hood, Tavendor offers 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engines with two power levels: 186 and 222 horsepower. Everything is connected to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, and it is also possible to choose between versions with two or four wheels.
Volkswagen Tavendor: marketing at the end of 2022
Volkswagen Tavendor will be sold in China from fourth quarter of 2022while marketing in Europe does not seem to be high on the agenda.
Pricing for the Tavendor has yet to be officially announced, but preliminary estimates suggest it starts at RMB 290,000, equivalent toabout 42,000 euros.
