There are no considerations for a new submission extension tax returnMinister of Finance stressed Christos Staikouras.
On the air of the Parapolitika radio station, he said that the process was almost completed, since the vast majority of declarations (6.2 million) had been submitted.
As he noted, two extensions have already been granted. He also noted that AADE is looking into a technical problem that legal entities have.
The finance minister also cited new data on good performance in investment, travel income and other indicators, while pointing to concerns about high inflation, noting that new fiscal space has been created in the summer and there will be a clear picture by next week.
Mr Staikouras said the government would be looking to expand the line of defense it had built in terms of accuracy, while stressing that there was the possibility of another increase in the minimum wage in 2023 and an increase in some pensions.
As for whether there will be a separate surcharge for natural gas, he said it would be judged based on fiscal space and government priorities.
Regarding the possibility of new support in the fuel market, he said it depends on what the price of electricity and natural gas will be. “If higher subsidies are needed there, then the scope for other actions is limited,” he explained.
