PSD Vice President Mihai Tudose said on Tuesday at the PSD Summer School that some measures to be introduced in the new regulation that will regulate the energy market and which will be adopted by the government by September 1 have been outlined.

Tudose clarified that a solidarity tax will be introduced, which will be paid by energy companies, and all companies in the system will pay income tax, which will help the state cover the costs of settlements.

“Regarding the energy package, I will tell you the principles that we agreed on and which, as I understand, will be included in the order that will be adopted at the first meeting of the Government tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, because, as I promised, by September 1 we will have a new regulation on energy market regulation. The innovations are as follows: the concept of reference price appears, which is calculated according to a complex formula. Your colleagues from the Government will explain to you after the adoption of the resolution that it is based on the purchase price, the recognition of some investments and a share of the profit.

Anything above this reference price will, at the time of sale, go to the solidarity fund in an account opened at the Ministry of Finance, from where the compensation provided to the final consumer will be paid. That is, individuals, legal entities, and here the new thing is that quotas also appear if you want a certain amount. We encourage and compensate, but we must have a reference point for pre-consumption, within one year, within two years, it does not last forever,” Mihai Tudose said at a press conference at the PSD summer school.

Tudose also emphasized that “the money will be used to offset the price for the end consumer. 0.68 for a household consumer and one lei for an economic consumer. I would say that these things were resolved in the coalition,” Tudose concluded.

On the other hand, PNL says that the Coalition agreed that there should be a tax on all intermediaries in the energy market.

“There (ed. in the new order) there are things that we, liberals, considered appropriate and good to continue, in the sense of maintaining the ceiling, as a principle on the basis of which the state should make additional efforts not to transfer this burden of price increases to the pockets consumers or companies,” PNL spokesman Jonut Stroe said.

He clarified that the same is determined and they are very concerned about the prices that must be fixed to remain at the same level as before. “There is a principle according to which all intermediaries in the energy market should be charged, because if from a legal point of view there are no problems, then from a moral point of view it is absolutely normal for this attempt to be supported. the entire chain of producers, intermediaries and consumers. There are also agreements on this. We’ll have the final version tomorrow, you’re probably waiting for it, I can confirm we’re in the last hundred meters at the moment,” said Straw.

Energy Minister Virgil Popescu said last week that the government is thinking a lot about taxing the entire chain of production, mediation and supply, as a possible proposal to amend the current Decree 27/2022, which limits energy and gas. prices until the end of March 2023.
