With live broadcasts throughout the day of the wedding of AUR leader George Simion, Romanian television was watched by 390,000 viewers every minute across the country. According to Pagina de Media, it was the most watched TV station, slightly eclipsing Pro TV (with only a thousand more viewers).

What is the difference?

  • Elderly audience. Among the 390,000 viewers of Romanian television, 150,000 (that is, almost 40%) were over 70 years old. Another 130,000 were aged 55-69.
  • Almost three-quarters (72%) of the audience watching the wedding on Romanian television were over 55 years old.

Younger audiences turned to Pro TV and Antena 1. In comparison, Pro TV and Antena 1 had 60,000 viewers from the over-70 segment.

Romanian TV ranked first nationally and in cities for daytime average, but in prime time, in the evening, the rating was different. The maximum audience was Pro TV (over 800,000 Romanians per station), followed nationally by Antena 1 (700,000) and only then by Romania TV (670,000).
