The Russian, who is ranked 10th in the world, defeated the athlete who represents Australia in straight sets with a score of 6-4, 6-4. The match lasted one hour and 53 minutes.
During the competition in Canada, Daria also beat Gret Minnen (109 WTA), Magdalena Frech (104 WTA), Nuria Parrizas-Diaz (64 WTA) and Diane Parry (81 WTA).
This is the sixth WTA title in the career of the Russian woman. At the age of 25, Kasatkina also won in Charleston (2017), Moscow (2018), St. Petersburg, Phillip Island Trophy (2021) and San Jose (2022).
In the first round of US Open 2022, Daria Kasatkina will meet the British Harriet Dart (93 WTA), and Daria Saville will meet Gabriela Ruse (102 WTA).
