Her pilots Lufthansa rejected the German firm’s offer and could go on strike at any time, the venture capitalists union said today as the wage hike dispute continues.
Workers voted to strike last month, which could further disrupt air travel during the summer season.
The venture capitalist said the company’s proposal was a step in the right direction, but fell short of the union’s demands for a 5.5% pay rise this year and automatic wage adjustment for inflation next year. The union is also calling for a single pay scale for all employees of Lufthansa’s subsidiaries, including budget carrier Eurowings.
“Legal and organizational preparations for strike mobilization have begun,” the VK said, but he specified that he was open for negotiations.
Lufthansa is yet to comment.
