23-time Grand Slam winner Serena announced in early August that she would retire “sometime” after the 2022 US Open.

The American announced this in the prestigious Vogue magazine, saying that in the near future she wants to “evolve” beyond tennis.

Martina Navratilova believes that Serena Williams will not have a perfect retirement from tennis

18-time major champion Martina Navratilova says Serena Williams doesn’t seem ready to retire from tennis away from the glory of winning a major tournament.

“It will be difficult for Serena. In 1993, when I retired, I told the press about it, and every tournament I had tears in my eyes.

Serena announced her retirement in a unique way in Vogue magazine, but it seems that she is not ready to accept the fact that she will lose, to accept all the difficulties that come with saying goodbye to tennis.

I don’t see a brilliant end to his career when he wins the US Open. It’s going to be hard to control your emotions, but if anyone can do it, it’s definitely Serena.” – Martina Navratilovareports Reuters.

From August 29 to September 11, New York will host the last Grand Slam tournament of the year. The champions of the title are Daniil Medvedev and Emma Reducanu.
