The domestic market “ran” with a double-digit growth rate industry in June, recording a turnover jump of 43.1%. This increase reflects the increase in tariffs made by the industry to offset the significant increase in the cost of energy and raw materials. In particular, as reported Greek Statistical Office, the overall manufacturing business cycle index for June 2022 (the total volume of the domestic and foreign market) increased by 43.1% compared to the corresponding index for June 2021, compared with an increase of 22.7% recorded in the corresponding comparison 2021 vs. 2020 On m/m June 2021-June 2022 General Industry Business Cycle Index showed an increase of 6.4% compared to the corresponding index in May 2022. On a 12-month basis, the average overall the July 2021-June 2022 index showed an increase of 36.8% compared to the corresponding figure for the twelve months from July 2020 to June 2021, compared with an increase of 2.6% recorded when comparing the corresponding previous twelve months. According to ELSTAT, the annual increase of 43.1% in the general trade turnover index in June was due to:

1. From changes in indicators of individual industries:

• 43.6% growth in the production turnover index. This increase was mainly driven by changes in the performance of double-digit industries: coke and refined petroleum products, base metals, chemicals and products, and the food industry.

The industry has raised tariffs to offset the rising cost of energy and raw materials.

• A 4.4% increase in the mining turnover index. This increase was mainly due to a change in the performance of double-digit industries: coal and lignite mining – crude oil and natural gas production – ancillary mining activities, other mines and quarries.

2. Changes in the indices of individual markets:

• Increase in the domestic market turnover index by 45.6%.

• 39.1% increase in the foreign market turnover index.
