
Novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) surveillance incident data for the ISO 32/2022 reporting week (August 8, 2022 – August 14, 2022) was released today by EODY.
In the reporting week, there were 73,710 cases of COVID-19 (7,065 per million population: -27% weekly change), of which 21% of infections are reinfections. The total number of infected since the beginning of the pandemic is 4,654,737 people, of which 51.9% are women.
The Rt for the area based on cases is estimated at 0.91 (95% CI: 0.78–1.05).
The total number of hospital admissions in the region during the reporting week was 1952 patients (7 days per month: 279, -17% weekly change), and the total number of discharges was 2072 patients (7 days per month: 296, -6% weekly change).
The number of intubated patients by the end of the reporting week is 118 (62.7% male) with a mean age of 69 years and 94.9% with underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older.
During the reporting week, 258 deaths of patients with COVID-19 were registered (25 per million population: weekly change -27%), for a total of 32,028 deaths since the beginning of the epidemic, of which 95.9% had comorbidities and / or were 70 years of age and older.
