Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada has again extended martial law and general mobilization for three months, measures that have been in place since February 24, when Russia invaded the neighboring country, DPA reported on Monday.
This was announced on Monday by the Chairman of the Council, Ruslan Stefanchuk, Agerpres notes.
The decree, which prohibits all men aged 18 to 60 from leaving Ukraine, will be in effect until November 21 inclusive.
This is the second continuation of the event since the beginning of the Russian military aggression against Ukraine.
Martial law gives the military more rights and limits civil liberties, such as the right to demonstrate.
Many experts see this postponement as an indicator of the approximate date until which Kyiv expects to continue the confrontation with Russia.
On February 24, Russia launched an unfounded and unprovoked military aggression against Ukraine. Moscow claims that this is a “special military operation to de-Nazify” the neighboring country and protect the Russian-speaking community in eastern Ukraine.
